Office
of Development
The Archdiocese
of Hartford Department of Development has been established
to provide additional financial support for the Church and
all its ministries. It works side-by-side with the
Office of Stewardship in recognizing contributions of time,
talent and treasure to the Church and its parishes.
The
Department of Development serves as a resource for information
and strategies for charitable giving to support the church’s
parishes, ministries and programs.
Estate
Planning Seminars: The Department offers opportunities
for people to put their financial lives in order through a
series
of Archdiocesan-wide
will and estate seminars. Less than 44 percent of the people
in the United States have a will. These seminars offer
common sense suggestions on how to ensure a person’s
wishes are carried out upon their passing.
The
Department’s staff partners with the priests, sisters
and lay leaders of the Archdiocese to cultivate and steward
gifts to benefit the many good works taking place each day
in the Archdiocese.
The
Department also works cooperatively with such entities
as the Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools
and the development staff of Catholic Charities to secure funds
to advance the purposes of these groups.
