Office of the Diaconate

The Office of the Diaconate for the Archdiocese of Hartford is appointed by and represents the Archbishop in all affairs concerning the Diaconate. Under the guidance of the Archbishop, through the Moderator of the Curia, are the Director of the Diaconate and the Director of Formation.

The Director of the Diaconate is responsible for the management of office operations, deacon assignments, ministerial activities, implementation of Archdiocesan policies, liason with the Conference of Deacons, regional, national and international diaconate organizations, and the continuing education of deacons.

The Director of Formation is responsible for the selection process of diaconate candidates, the Formation Program that consists of spiritual, pastoral and academic areas and the selection and supervision of instructors

The Coordinator of Wives Programs is responsible for spiritual, ministerial, and support activities of deacon and candidates' wives and the widows of deacons.
