Mission
The Pro-Life
Ministry serves the Archdiocese of Hartford by
promoting a culture of life. Human life is precious and
entitled to protection from conception through natural
death. This ministry offers programs of education that
promote the preciousness of human life and the hurtful
impact of abortion, euthanasia, human cloning, the death
penalty, assisted suicide, and embryonic stem cell research.
The Pro-Life Ministry fosters pastoral
programs for women and men, e.g., Project Rachel and pregnancy
crisis centers; advocates for public policies that support
human life, and provides opportunities for liturgy and prayer
with the theme of the inherent dignity of the human person.
Pro-Life Ministry sends a monthly newsletter
(mail and email) on current pro-life issues, as well as e-mail
alerts whenever breaking news occurs in the General Assembly
or in the U.S. Congress requesting voters to express their opinion
by contacting their state or federal legislators.
