Mission
The Archdiocesan
Center at St. Thomas
Seminary is a private conference/retreat center as well
as a residence for priests and an office building for agencies
of the Archdiocese of Hartford.
About the Archdiocesan Center
at St. Thomas
Seminary
Our facility was built in 1928 and served as a
seminary and day high school for young men up until the early 1980’s.
We currently offer over 22,000 square feet of retreat and conference
space, 195 dormitory style rooms, catering and meeting services,
and recreational facilities. We are located on 85 acres 3 miles
north of Hartford in the town of Bloomfield. We have a gothic style
chapel located in our facility, as well as the Archbishop
O’Brien
Library and the Catholic
Bookstore. We have both active and retired
priests who reside at our facility. There are 17 different agencies
that have offices at our facility.
Staff
The Rector/President of St. Thomas Seminary is Monsignor Gerard G. Schmitz.
The staff consists of a General Manager, an Events Coordinator, an Executive Chef, a Director of Maintenance, a Bookkeeper, an Office Manager, a Library Director, as well as administrative, food service, housekeeping and maintenance staff.
