St. Joseph Medal given to faithful parishioners
HARTFORD (03-22-2009) - "You are the homily; you are the Church," Archbishop Henry J. Mansell told the recipients of the St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation in his homily at the standing-room-only Cathedral of St. Joseph, Sunday, March 22, 2009. He praised the selfless, generous dedication of these parishioners representing churches throughout the archdiocese. He related that one of the honored persons helps out with art projects in the parish school and comes home "full of glue and glitter." He commented, "You are the glue! You hold the parish together!"
The St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation is awarded by the Archbishop to men and women who have been nominated by their pastors for outstanding, faithful service to the parish over the years. Each year every parish is invited to nominate one person or one married couple. Click here for a list of the 2009 recipients (pdf).

Friends, families and fellow parishioners filled the Cathedral
for the St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation Award Ceremony.
