The Catholic Relief Services Collection 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Next weekend our Archdiocese will once again take up the Catholic Relief Services Collection. This important Collection not only provides for our marginalized, impoverished, and vulnerable brothers and sisters all over the world—it does much more. This Collection gives hope to Jesus in disguise.

The Catholic Relief Services Collection helps to fund programs that give hope to refugees, the impoverished, and immigrants, including victims of war, natural disaster, and drought. These programs offer not only direct aid, but also provide important tools, such as agricultural assistance, water programs, and health care, that allow people to create better lives for themselves in the most challenging circumstances. Through humanitarian, economic, pastoral, and advocacy efforts, the Catholic Relief Services Collection gives HOPE.

I invite you to join this effort to give hope to Jesus in disguise.

In our Archdiocese, the Catholic Relief Services Collection is scheduled for the weekend of June 5-6, next weekend.  Please know that your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of many.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell
Archbishop of Hartford
