Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus honor Archbishop, Priests

HAMDEN, CT (06-10-2010) - The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus marked the closing of the Year for Priests by honoring all priests of the Archdiocese with the Mother Clelia Leadership Award at their 2010 Legacy Dinner held at Cascade in Hamden. Archbishop Henry J. Mansell received the award on behalf of the priests from Sister Maureen Martin, Provincial Superior. Sister Maureen explained, "Archbishop Henry J. Mansell truly exemplifies Clelia Merloni Leadership qualities with his unflagging dedication and service to both the Archdiocese of Hartford and the greater community. Throughout his ministry as Archbishop of Hartford, the Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell has demonstrated noteworthy leadership regarding the parishes he serves, the underprivileged, education and aging and ailing priests. We are delighted to honor him - and through him, all priests - as this Year for Priests draws to a close."

The Sisters also presented awards to others "whose lives represent generous faith and service": Mother Clelia Service Award to Jan and Ann Koelemij, and Fernando Saracco, M.D.; the Mother Clelia Charism Award to Frances Consiglio and Elaine Lamboley; and the Mother Clelia Youth Award to Jennifer Limauro.
